Trespasses is a 2022 debut novel by Louise Kennedy.[1] Set in Northern Ireland, the novel follows a young woman who gets caught between allegiance to community and a dangerous passion.

Trespasses was shortlisted for the 2022 inaugural Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize[2] and for the 2023 Women's Prize for Fiction.[3]

Adaptation

A television adaptation starring Gillian Anderson began filming for Channel 4 in 2024.[4]

Per Book Marks, a website that aggregates critical reviews for literature from mainstream critics, the book received an overall "Rave" consensus rating based on 16 independent third-party assessments, including 13 "rave" and 3 "positive" reviews.[5]
