Michael Todd Chrisley (born April 6, 1969) is an American reality television personality and real estate entrepreneur. He is best known as the patriarch of Chrisley Knows Best, a reality television series that aired on the USA Network from 2014 to 2023. The show documented Chrisley's family life in Georgia and Tennessee. Chrisley is known for his flamboyant personality, humor, and strict parenting style, which became central themes in his television persona.[1]

Television
[edit]In 2014, Chrisley Knows Best premiered on the USA Network. The show focused on Chrisley’s opulent lifestyle, his family, and his outspoken personality. The program was ratings success, leading to multiple spin-offs, including Growing Up Chrisley, which featured his children Chase and Savannah.[3]
Despite its popularity, the show ended in 2023 following legal issues faced by the Chrisley family.[4]

[edit]Todd and Julie Chrisley faced multiple legal challenges over the years. In August 2019, they were indicted on charges of tax evasion and conspiracy to commit bank fraud. Prosecutors alleged that the couple submitted falsified financial documents to secure millions of dollars in loans.[5]
In June 2022, they were convicted on federal charges of tax evasion and bank fraud. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, and Julie received a 7-year sentence. Their legal team filed appeals, maintaining their innocence.[6]
Personal life
[edit]Todd Chrisley married Julie Hughes in 1996. The couple had three children together: Chase, Savannah, and Grayson. Todd also has two children, Lindsie and Kyle, from a previous marriage. The family frequently appeared on Chrisley Knows Best.[7]
