Thomas Mardal (born 16 April 1997) is a Norwegian hammer thrower.

Career

Whilst attending the University of Florida he became NCAA champion in the weight throw.[1] He broke the Norwegian national record in the weight throw in February 2021, achieving a distance of 24.16 metres.[2] He also became 2021 NCAA champion in the hammer throw.[3] That year, he improved his personal best in the hammer throw to improved his lifetime best in the hammer to 76.18m whilst competing in Kingston, Jamaica.[4]

He competed at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon in the men's hammer throw.[5]

He competed at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest in the hammer throw.[6][7]

He competed in the 2024 European Championships in Rome in the hammer throw.[8][9] He was selected for the 2024 Paris Olympics.[10]

Personal life

He is the son of the former long jumper Ole Morten Mardal.
