The curse of the eighth decade is a Jewish mythology According to the Old Testament's Tanakh, the majority of the Israelites kingdom will be collapsed in 70 to 80 years.[1][2][3]

According to Psalm 90:10[1] -

In Our days may come to seventy years,

or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,

for they quickly pass, and we fly away

— Psalm

This is what the Lord says: 'When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place.'

— Jeremiah 29:10
