The Assassination of Margaret Thatcher, published in 2014, is a short story collection by Hilary Mantel.[1]

Culture Critic assessed critical response as an aggregated score of 80% based on British press reviews.[2] On The Omnivore, based on British and American press reviews, the book received an "omniscore" of 4.0 out of 5.[3] The Bookseller reported on reviews from several publications with a rating scale for the novel out of "Top form", "Flawed but worth a read", and "Disappointing": Times review under "Top form" and Guardian and Mail on Sunday reviews under "Flawed but worth a read".[4] On the January/February 2015 issue of Bookmarks, the book received a (3.5 out of 5) with the critical summary saying, "These stories may not appeal to as wide an audience as her Cromwell trilogy," notes the San Francisco Chronicle, "but those who love her darker and more playful works are likely to be both bewitched and delighted".[5]
