Photo
[edit]Does anyone have any proof that this photo is actually of Old Yishuv?
As the article Old Yishuv says, "The 'Old Yishuv' term was coined by members of the 'New Yishuv' in the late 19th century".
I do not see any proof that those gentleman are actually Old Yishuv, as opposed to immigrants of the First Aliyah.

- Old Yishuv lived in the cities (mostly Jerusalem, Hebron, Safed and Tiberias), whereas the "New Yishuv" established agricultural communities (in Galilee, coastal plane and various other locations) and later new towns (like Tel Aviv in 1909). The entire community of Jerusalem was Old Yishuv, because of their social and economic way of life. This is a representative photo from Jerusalemite Jewish community, which shows elderly Jews. If you speculate that they are perhaps "new yishuv" visitors to Jerusalem, this is very unlikely, because new Yishiv were mostly youngsters (second Aliya) or mid-aged (first Aliya).GreyShark (dibra) 14:53, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
Winemaking
[edit]On 1 April 2014 I added Wine-making under the Economy section and linked it to Teperberg 1870. At the time I wanted to add more pages about the Yishuv economy and started Jewish textile industry in 16th century Safed. I also had created Palestinian wine and hoped to add it here too. Unfortunately both additions were removed by Sir Joseph. The link to Palestinian wine was removed using the premise that "This (Teperberg 1870) was the yishuv winery, not the Palestinian wine, Egyptian and Roman wine had nothing to do with the old yishuv." I propose re-linking both pages, using the relevant section under Palestinian wine referring to the Yishuv which of course contained more than just one Jewish winery. - If there is no objection here, I will proceed to link Palestinian wine. Chesdovi (talk) 13:55, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- Again, isn't that a violation of your TBAN? Sir Joseph (talk) 13:59, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
