Renaming to Myanmar

[edit]

The main set of article names were changed to Myanmar following Talk:Myanmar#Requested_move_7_August_2015.

@Timrollpickering: are we leaving "Burma" in the names of categories up to the 1980s? (My question is based on Category:Decades in Myanmar and this edit.)

Pages such as 2015 in Myanmar use this Template:Years in Burma which generates links to e.g. Category:2010s in Burma. On that 2015 page it is also looking for e.g. Category:1990s in Burma but not giving a link as that category has been renamed to Myanmar.

It seems to me that we need someone to change this template so that it generates links for 1990/1990s and subsequent dates to use Myanmar rather than Burma; do you agree? – Fayenatic London 13:26, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The change was made in 1989 which seems the best point to switch at. I find these templates a nightmare when it comes to renamed countries. Timrollpickering (talk) 16:54, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I see that now at Name of Myanmar. I have posted a request at WP:Requested templates. – Fayenatic London 21:06, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
