Roster for each season
[edit]I just wonder, should there be a team roster for each season?Oxozor (talk) 03:07, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Jay Beagle is not listed on the current roster. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tunesmith54 (talk • contribs) 02:21, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
Hershey Bears players
[edit]Should the Hershey Bears players that are already on this list continue being on this list or not? T Rex | talk 12:15, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- As of right now I have all the player who played a game last with the Caps (or any other NHL team) on the list. Since we don't know who will make the team after pre-season, I say we leave them on the template until we know what the rosters will be come season time. Thricecube 17:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds good. T Rex | talk 21:07, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
The third alternate captain
[edit]Ahh com on, it's been Poti for the last number of regular season games & now the playoffs. Brashear hasn't been wearing the A for some time. GoodDay (talk) 17:29, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Country names are outdated (e.g. Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia)
[edit]Shouldn't we update these outdated names to their new country names? It should be pretty simple when we have the city name of the player's birthplace. (For example, Fleishmann's birthplace links him to the Czech Republic.) This problem is no doubt indiciative of the situation for all NHL teams, but you have to start somewhere...
I'm going to go ahead and change the names and have someone tell me otherwise afterwards. It just doesn't feel right to have these outdated mother countries when the governments have been in place for many years now.

- They aren't outdated, we use the "old" country names on purpose.. Standard is to use the name of the country at the time of the players birth. These players weren't born in Russia, they were born in the Soviet Union etc. It would be incorrect to list it with the new countries, because they were not born in those countries. This year will be the first year any of the post soviet union players will actually be making the professional leagues, the ones born after the change that is as not all new players this year will fall into this category. The new players will have the "new" country names listed when they make the rosters. -DJSasso (talk) 21:23, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Kuznetsov
[edit]Just wanted to note I listed Kuznetsov as simply a forward until we see where Oates decides to use him. Seemed like the most logical way to do it. 1995hoo (talk) 19:59, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
