Standardized?

[edit]

Was this a standardized designation system? I have not seen any sources connecting these designations, and most were standard model numbers from their respective manufacturers (D-558, K-16B, K-225, M-270, and V-173) rather than being assigned by the Navy. L-39 is generally referred to as an unusual or non-standard designation by sources (unlike the other manufacturers, Bell did not prefix their model numbers), and I'm not sure where Y2-2 comes from (it's not mentioned in the article and does not follow the apparent format of the other designations). - ZLEA T\C 01:26, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Y2-2 is weird. But a long while back I did find a source that stated these were in fact official designations, which is what led me to create this template in the first place. I can't re-find it right at the moment though, just a Secret Projects thread on the subject. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:37, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
