I don't think the reasoning behind removing the authors of the novels from the template is valid. Frank Darabont is listed as the developer of the television show, and the reasoning for removing the novel authors fits there too, since Mr. Darbont is linked in the television show article. If Mr. Darabont is allowed to be listed in the template (which I believe he should be), then the authors of the novels should be allowed in the template as well (arguably even moreso since the comic's main creator is one of the co-authors of the novels). There is only one Robert Kirkman and he is already, very prominently, at the top of the navbox. A navbox is a list of links that sits at the bottom of a lot of pages and takes up space, it should be compact, especially vertically, and not have anything in it except links and nothing doesn't need to be there, especially duplicated links. Anyone slightly interested in the novels' authors will find them on the linked pages about the books. (I never challenged the idea of linking books, if they have articles to go with them.) Look for example at Template:Torchwood, which is one entry for all the novels (and none for authors); same for Template:X-Files. Template:Planet of the Apes, Template:Terminator. and Template:Alien all link book titles, but not authors. Even at List of Star Trek novels which is only about books, it only lists titles, not authors, even though there are several well-known writers.
Also, since you are taking an interest in these books, I suggest that if you aren't going to do a lot more work on them that they be combined into a single article for the trilogy. They need reviews etc. to make them notable in any case, not just (excessively) long summaries of the plot. Barsoomian (talk) 03:04, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
