[edit]Hi,
This template specifies several fonts for the Mon languages. Quite likely this can be made much simpler by using a webfont. Wikipedia already provides three webfonts for Burmese: TharLon, Padauk and Myanmar3. TharLon is the default.
Can any of these three fonts be used for Mon as well? Which one should be the default?
Here are samples.
- TharLon: အဲရာန်သ္ၚုတုဲယျ
- Padauk: အဲရာန်သ္ၚုတုဲယျ
- Myanmar3: အဲရာန်သ္ၚုတုဲယျ
I copied the sentence from the article Mon language; I'm not even sure how appropriate it is, so feel free to try with any other text as much as needed. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 20:59, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
- Nobody replies, so I decided to be bold and set it to TharLon. If it's wrong in any way, please correct it. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 11:12, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry for late reply. Yes, these 3 can be basically used for Mon fonts. Tharlon will have the most correct renderings. Otherwise, Anonta Mon font (modification of Myanmar3 font) itself is developed by a Mon developer and should have the most correct renderings. @=={Lionslayer>☎ 20:36, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- NP, thanks for the confirmation. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 15:59, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
