@Jlwoodwa and Primefac: I started working on that in Template:Protected page maintenance message/sandbox, but it turns out this whole template is broken because {{If administrator}} doesn't take a second parameter. Partly done: @Jlwoodwa and Primefac: I implemented my hacky workaround sandbox code so administrators will see "{{{1}}} or make an edit request" and changed the template to use {{If autoconfirmed}} instead of {{If IP}}. I also added a |demo= parameter for testcases and made the template specify a |type= paramter for {{Submit an edit request/link}}. --Ahecht (TALK

I don't think the "or" options are ideal, but I don't have the time to parse everything out properly and come up with a solution (i.e. I don't think we should say "edit or make a request" for every option). Good call on the admin thing though. Primefac (talk) 10:02, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
