Date

[edit]

Just a note for the record -- The 18 March date was not decided by consensus. That was essentially a placeholder and left in by default. I believe these first started being used about 28 March 2010. Maurreen (talk) 14:31, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IMO the mention of the date is superfluous anyway. Unless of course there is a Wkipedia policy somewhere that states that such templates should carry the date when the policy was decided. I believe the date was simply mentioned in a posting as a suggested date from which the use of the sticky PROD should come into effect - a kinda 'hurry up' hint to the developers.--Kudpung (talk) 01:07, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two errors

[edit]
  • 'Proposed deletion' wording links to WP:PROD but it's for 'Proposed deletion of biographies of living people' which is WP:BLPPROD
  • This template says 7 days, but WP:BLPPROD and when substed {{Prod BLP}} (not the /doc) both says 10 days.

Self-contradicting

[edit]

Template generated section title states proposed deletion, but the message body proposes article improvement. The boilerplate should be clarified. What is being requested of the articles' authors? --Bxj (talk) 00:38, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another error

[edit]

Does this contain a hidden parameter? When I copy and paste the code from the BLP prod tag onto a user talk page, the final text contains a second objection to the article apart from the BLP issue:

"The nominator also raised the following concern: place reason here".

Can you please switch that off or document how to block it? De728631 (talk) 00:07, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Template warning text

[edit]

I've started a discussion of the text content of this template, at Wikipedia talk:Biographies of living persons#ProdwarningBLP. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:13, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gives the impression it won't be deleted

[edit]

This template seems to give the impression that a reference guarantees the article will be retained. Can we put something to the effect that the article may still be deleted for other reasons, such as notability? Siuenti (talk) 16:34, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
