Criteria
[edit]- Company must be its own company - i.e. no subsidiaries (wholly owned or not)
- Company must be headquartered in Oregon - i.e not Intel, not SW Washington based
- Company must have revenues of at least $100 million per year
- Company must currently exist
Without these criteria list would grow too big. Place at bottom of companies listed above, plus Oregon economic/business related articles. Aboutmovies 01:54, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Suggestions
[edit]How about Benchmade? Katr67 01:28, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- They only do about $5 million in annual sales, see Hoovers, so if the threshold is that low then just about everyone in the cat of Oregon based Companies would get included. And I think that's just too many, since there are still a lot of companies w/o articles (i.e. Lithia Motors in Medford that is a NYSE company) and I don't think we want places like Market of Choice or the home based video game maker populating the list. I went through all the COs in the cat and checked their revenues and mainly stuck to the $100 benchmark (though Rentrak was only $95 mil) or for some of the private companies that are not required to have financials I guessed based on their operations (for instance Shari's has about 100 locations and I would easily estimate per store revenue of 2-3 million since they are open 24/7 and have lottery and alcohol sales). I'm not sold on the $100 mill mark, but I'm thinking at least $50 at a bare minimum. What do you think? Aboutmovies 04:39, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- $100 million works for me, but economics aren't my strong suit. And preferring swords to knives, I probably never would have heard of Benchmade until I spent a lot of time helping clean up the article. Thanks for the Hoover's link--I was wondering how I could find out their sales. Anybody interesting fall between $50 and $100 million? Katr67 05:40, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- Keeping it over $50 million is going to be a fuckton of companies you're going to have to remove.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 05:46, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
