Lack of provision for archive url

This template does not appear to have provision for an archive URL. The link provided at Rowing at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Qualification has been broken by changes made by FISA at their website, but the template does not apparently allow for an archive url parameter to be added, which is what I was trying to do. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:08, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose of this template

What does "tabulates the heads of qualification" mean? I do not understand the purpose of this template. Of course the articles do not include the full qualification rules.
