Lack of provision for archive url

[edit]

This template does not appear to have provision for an archive URL. The link provided at Rowing at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Qualification has been broken by changes made by FISA at their website, but the template does not apparently allow for an archive url parameter to be added, which is what I was trying to do. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:08, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As a temporary fix I've defined a second version of the ref, with the archive url, but there ought to be a cleaner way of doing it. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:18, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can't you just put the archive url into the url field of the template? Rodney Baggins (talk) 06:47, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have added |archive-url=, |archive-date= and |url-status= to the template and updated the /doc. Primefac (talk) 10:35, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Primefac: Thanks, but I tried it in this edit, and it didn't seem to work. Did I do something wrong? --David Biddulph (talk) 12:44, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nested bracket issue. Fixed now. Primefac (talk) 17:42, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose of this template

[edit]

What does "tabulates the heads of qualification" mean? I do not understand the purpose of this template. Of course the articles do not include the full qualification rules. We do not put tags on other articles about complex subjects saying that the complete rules are elsewhere. -- JFHutson (talk) 19:18, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
