Is Augustine's City of God really a core work of neoplatonism?

The body of article for The City of God never mentions neoplatonism, and only mentions Platonism in this context: "an argument against the Platonists and their natural theology, which Augustine views as the closest approximation of Christian truth."

The article Neoplatonism does discuss Augustine, but does not discuss The City of God--and even Augustine is described as a person influenced by neoplatonism rather than as a leader of neoplatonic thought himself.

Bottom line: I think The City of God should be removed from the template's list of major neoplatonist works. Mosi Nuru (talk) 18:35, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
