Changes[edit]

As I have added some of Loach's television work to the template, it seems appropriate to substitute "the work" for "films" in the title, as "television play" would be the pedantic description for those items. The dates were added for ease of editing and navigation. Philip Cross (talk) 13:12, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

I have changed the title of the template to Works directed by Ken Loach, from Films directed by Ken Loach. This is because, as was noted above in a comment several years ago, the category contains television plays directed by Loach as well as films. I think it is entirely appropriate for these plays to be included as they helped make Loach's reputation as a director. Also Loach's direction of works that were part of the The Wednesday Play series, notably Cathy Come Home and Up the Junction is significant as these are considered highly important works in British television history. Indeed it could be argued that they made more of a cultural impact than the majority of Loach's films. Thus, I think not having them in the template would be odd. However, clearly including them means that describing the template as films directed by Loach was misleading, hence my change of title. If anyone disagrees I am happ to discuss further.
