Partitionist maps

[edit]

It was very considerate of Irishpunktom to add the Template:Irishwiki to the user pages of Wikipedians associated with Ireland. Personally, however, I'm not fond of these two-tone political maps that show the North and South in different colours and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. At the same time, I'm fully aware that there are two political states on the island of Ireland. May I propose that the template be modified to contain a geographical map of Ireland on the left-hand side and a political map of Ireland on the right. --Damac 08:51, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have replaced the map with a politically neutral map - if anyone wants to use a (modified and minimalist, preferrably) political one on the right in order to give us a history/political lesson, by all means! Djegan 22:31, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I prefer it this way too! Cheers!--Irishpunktom\talk 10:52, 31 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why not use the satellite image of Ireland we have, or is that not allowed legally? Re the colour scheme, please change it to the previous colour. It is rather dull and dreary now. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 04:52, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not a bad idea (no copyright issues with satellite - it would be nice to get a good image without cloud that would do justice for a thumbnail) - if anyone wants to revert/change my ideas go ahead. Djegan 18:35, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I have made an alternative image recommendation at[1]. Djegan 18:56, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
