Regarding the launch_date and operator parameters

[edit]

At the Powerball article, I have been using {{Infobox organization}} due to some odd behavior from this template, though it keeps getting changed back over time. (My fault for forgetting to bring this up.)

There awere multiple issues, I recall, but all I can remember at this time is the launch_date and operator parameters. To start with Launch_date, it keeps breaking the mdy rule and incorrectly formatting the date as if it should be dmy. Oddly, it keeps writing the date even when the parameter is blank. (Currently, I guess it is seeing that {{start date and age}} is used in the other template and stealing that. Though, I vaguely recall it was doing it without any other template last time? Not sure.) Regarding the operator parameter, it is converting the text in it from a wikilink into a non-link format. Additionally, it refuses to show a second operator, I recall. (Plus it somehow is showing text when the parameter is blank. See this edit.)

I think last time I put in hours trying to fix the rendering issues at the article level to limited success. Rather than deal with that again, I realized I should post something here. I did check other US lottery article and saw similar situations on those articles. Colorado Lottery in particular is baffling as the launch_date parameter is set, but displays no date which is the opposite issue from the Powerball article. --Super Goku V (talk) 07:07, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
