Template talk:Infobox company/wikidata
Broken website param
[edit]This is the first time I've encountered this template, and to be honest I'm intrigued, but believe it needs a lot of work. One of the issues is that if there are multiple websites defined on WikiData, it links them as one URL on the template, for example: en.tnuva.co.il/,%20https://www.tnuva.co.il/ (see Tnuva). I can try working on the template, but if one of the previous contributors can fix this quickly it would be appreciated. —Ynhockey (Talk) 09:48, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- Fixed. Thanks for taking an interest! I agree with you on the status of this template. I updated it to handle the cases in Tnuva and implemented it there, because the infobox was very outdated and changes were likely to lag significantly behind the Hebrew WP.
- I think it's great some work is going to be put into the template, and it's probably a good choice in cases like that. I'm not very active on Wikipedia, but am on other Wikiprojects, so I should always be able to respond to a ping. If I can help, let me know. Thanks, ARR8 (talk) 15:53, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks! Another example from Tnuva is the revenue part: there doesn't seem to be an option to round it, so you get stuff like "410,000,000 Israeli new shekel" instead of "₪ 410 million" like in many other articles. It would be nice to have some additional parameters or an option to use a sub-template here. —Ynhockey (Talk) 12:30, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hmm, I'm not sure what that would be. At Wikivoyage, one of our regular template makers created a simple one for rounding that substitutes the word million, thounsand, etc. Would you know if there's an equivalent ready-to-use here, or would something have to be cobbled together with formatnum? Also, what kind of parameters were you thinking? I don't know much about infoboxes; do they usually take parameters for display options? ARR8 (talk) 05:09, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- At cswiki we have rounding for numbers in Module (for result see cs:Škoda Auto for example, all financial data are from WD) - cs:Modul:Wikidata/Formatters/round, it was developed for use at cswiki Company Infobox (cs:Šablona:Infobox - firma), that is using Wikdata extensively.--Jklamo (talk) 09:16, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Picture caption
[edit]Hi, I notice the picture caption parameter no longer works so some information will be lost here and there e.g. Fenton, Murray and Jackson. Is it possible to fix/restore this option?
Axed
[edit]This template has been emptyed out now and is instead a redirect to main template, I hope some of the dynamic content has been moved over and not just deleted Back ache (talk) 10:46, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
