Ongoing

[edit]

How about for an ongoing Finals series? Certainly we can't use the champion/runner-up parameters with certainty. --Howard the Duck 16:34, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that we rename the parameters to team 1/team 2.—Chris! ct 22:21, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is even better if we rename them eastern or western champion.—Chris! ct 23:02, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd prefer the team with the home court advantage appear at the bottom. –Howard the Duck 04:01, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I started a thread at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Basketball Association#Template:NBA Finals summary. Please discuss there instead.—Chris! ct 21:37, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When |radio_announcers= is used, a lot of whitespace is added before the infobox. -- Gadget850 talk 11:53, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Two infoboxes

[edit]

Is there a need for this separate infobox? {{Infobox basketball series}} seems to be sufficient. Infinite mission (talk) 20:39, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What if it was set up to be just one game? The other infobox would be woefully inadequate. Howard the Duck (talk) 01:32, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There is a template for a single game, {{Infobox basketball game}}. Infinite mission (talk) 13:36, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Infinite mission: Please don't WP:FORUMSHOP and create different threads for the same question. You already asked this at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Basketball_Association#Infobox_for_each_NBA_Finals and got feedback. It's ok to leave notifications, but it's counter productive to have multiple threads. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 12:19, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Bagumba: the intent was to cast a wide net and get feedback from people who might not see the other discussion there. Infinite mission (talk) 13:36, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Infinite mission: Sure, just point them to central location—don't have a fragmeneted discussion. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 13:38, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Finals capitalization

[edit]

For most leagues, finals is lowercase, per consensus at multiple RM discussions. For the NBA and WNBA, it's capitalized Finals. It would be good if the template could default to lowercase and have a short list of exceptions. This affect the title, and prev and next links. Does anyone here know how to hack this? Dicklyon (talk) 23:31, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

|league= is already an input parameter, so just use that to see if an exception applies. —Bagumba (talk) 01:18, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
