Population

[edit]

Would it be possible to add a Population section? I think this is quite important, and the data is readily available, I'd gladly do most of the constituencies myself. (Umbongo91 (talk) 16:15, 11 April 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Done. Use |population=. Don't forget to cite sources. Please also update the template's documentation if you have a figure for Bishop Auckland. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 11:55, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's now the end of November 2010 and the population figure has been added to a handful of constituencies. The population figures come from the 2001 Census so they are now nine years out of date anyway. Would anyone object if I changed it to the more useful figure of the Parliamentary electorate? Electorate figures from the general election are available now from the Electoral Commission and in a few days the new electoral register comes in, which are the figures which are planned to be used for the redistribution of constituencies. At the moment I'm going through adding the new electorate figures to each constituency, as the other constituency template has an electorate section I've also added the same section to this one.
Also, I've deleted the population section as it isn't being used and the 2001 data is way out of date. Mirrorme22 (talk) 18:49, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
