The Vampires of Venice

[edit]

In "The Vampires of Venice" the Eleventh Doctor holds up a library card with the First Doctor's picture on it. Would this be considered a minor appearance because it is Hartnell appearing in a new setting, or a see also because it is an only an image showing his past?--Fred Bloggs (talk) 21:18, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We normally draw the line at whether an actor actually filmed/recorded footage for a new episode. An old photograph definitely wouldn't count. (Though frankly, I'm not sure why we need a "First Doctor stories" template at all when we already have a "Doctor Who episodes" template and both "First Doctor stories" and "First Doctor episodes" categories. But then again, I don't think templates should include minor appearances at all, so take that as you will.) —Flax5 21:43, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

David Bradley

[edit]

Should this actor have his own section on the template, since he is canonically playing the First Doctor in two episodes this year (The Doctor Falls + the upcoming Xmas special)? NP Chilla (talk) 19:46, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking the same thing, but it might be bet to wait until the Christmas Special as a) his appearance in The Doctor Falls could be considered a cameo and b) While I think it is very unlikely, it is just possible at this stage that the character he is playing is not the bona fide First Doctor.
