Pre-1901 flag
[edit]Is there a reason why this doesn't have the pre-1901 flag? mcornelius (talk) 10:15, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Can we add an option to display File:Flag of New York (1901–2020).svg when including the year "1901" in the template text like this: {{flag|New York|1901}}. Currently, this text displays the flag adopted in 2020, and my suggestion would be consistent with other country data pages allowing previously used flags to be displayed when a certain year is input. There are multiple pages that anachronistically display the flag adopted in 2020, instead of the 1901 version that is appropriate to the time period. Politicsfan4 (talk) 23:13, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
