Land campaigns and naval campaign
[edit]@2x2leax, I have separated it in naval campaign and land campaigns for a very simple reason. Several of the raids and naval battles are not framed within the first restoration expedition (1837) and the second restoration expedition (1838-1839). For example, the Blanco Encalada raid on Callao and Guayaquil in 1836 is outside the first restoration expedition, which began in 1837 as I have already mentioned. Another example is the battle of Islay that takes place before beginning the second restoration expedition. That is why it is better to separate in naval campaign and land campaigns. --Muwatallis II (talk) 17:31, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
New matters
[edit]@2x2leax , let's clarify the following points:
- In historiography there is no reference to a "restoration campaign against the confederate montoneras".
- Just as there is an incursion by Blanco Encalada, I do not see why not doing the same with Trinidad Moran.
- The battle between Aquiles and Yanacocha does not have a historiographical name and did not occur on the island of San Lorenzo.
- What happened on the island of Juan Fernandéz was an incursion, not an operation to occupy the island, he had no intention of remaining on the island. --Muwatallis II (talk) 20:52, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Muwatallis II , in response:
- I based in the template in Spanish about the restoration campaign against the confederate montoneras.
- Becuase in Peruvian historiography the Trinidad Moran raid is called Confederate naval expedition, unlike Blanco Encalada that don't have any name, at least what I reseached in both Chilean and Peru-Bolivian history books. And according with Wikipedia in English is preferable to use the common name before a neutral name.
- That don't said the article in Spanish.
- Yes, you're right. --2x2leax (talk) 21:13, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- The "campaign of restoration against the confederate montoneras" is not edited, there is no information to corroborate it. Its mere existence in the wikipedia in Spanish, without references, is not proof that it is real.
- Show me a reference that mentions "confederate naval expedition".
- The battle between Aquiles and Yanacocha was in front of Callao. A minor action without much relevance. The Spanish version is wrong. Page 47 --Muwatallis II (talk) 20:47, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, I was researching about that and nothing.
- In the book Escuadra Nacional (in Spanish). Armada de Chile. 2018. p. 91. ISBN 978-956-8797-10-2. the confederate naval expedition is reffered as Expedición confederada, in English Confederate expedition. Here is the online version of that book.
- According with Juan Bautista Alberdi; Alfonso Bulnes (1935). Andres Bello (ed.). Epistolario 1855-1881 (in Spanish). Vol. 3rd and 4th. p. 14. and Eduardo Angulo Budge. "Semblanza de un comandante en el mar Apuntes biográficos del Capitán de Fragata don Pedro Angulo Novoa. 1803-1859" (PDF) (in Spanish). Revista Marina. p. 5. say that the Chileans ships were blocking Callao from San Lorenzo island, and Carlos Lopez Urrutia (2008). Historia de la Marina de Chile (in Spanish). p. 248. ISBN 978-061-5185-74-3. say that the minor battle were near San Lorenzo.
