Inclusion criteria

We should have some inclusion criteria... 132.205.45.226 01:44, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm adding Number Three since she seems to be a major element of season 3. 132.205.45.226 01:44, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

BSG:The Resistance

Duck and Jammer were regulars on TR... should they appear on the list? 132.205.44.134 00:22, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Suspected Cylons

It seems that since Anders, Tyrol, Foster, and Tigh are only suspected Cylons they should either have (suspected) after their names in this template or they shouldn't be listed in the "Cylon" category. --64.113.78.228 04:17, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Ronald D. Moore, the executive producer and creator of the reimagined BSG has confirmed in an interview that the four ARE indeed Cylons. Here is a link. -- Crevaner 07:30, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Ron has been known to use misdirection in the past. I suggest we not change it until we are sure that it's canon. An interview with the producer does not make it truth in fiction. JRP 14:58, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Yes it does. RDM is the man responsible for the storyline. Just accept it, they're Cylons! -- Crevaner 18:28, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
    • They can be cylons and not have it be revealed in the series yet. I agree with you that it is probably true, but Wikipedia isn't for fan speculation based on interviews with producers. Until it appears on the show, we shouldn't be including the information as true. JRP 18:52, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Appearing on the show in should not be a criterion for inclusion, either. In a series in which character lie and tell half-truths, using this primary source for encyclopedic content is sketchy. Unfortunately, there aren't a whole lot of reliable secondary BSG sources sitting around... --EEMeltonIV 01:45, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
  • It's not "fan speculation", it's CONFIRMATION! Here's another interview in which RDM confirms they're Cylons. Once again. Just accept it, JRP. -- Crevaner 21:46, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Should the template have the human/cylons seperated?

Characters on Battlestar Galactica
Humans: Lee "Apollo" Adama | William Adama | Karl "Helo" Agathon | Gaius Baltar | Anastasia "Dee" Dualla | Felix Gaeta | Laura Roslin Kara "Starbuck" Thrace | Cally Tyrol
Cylons: Number Three | Number Six | Number Eight | Samuel Anders | Tory Foster | Saul Tigh | Galen Tyrol

I have noticed that since I made this comment, that it has been changed and then changed back again. Does anyone care to make a comment when they do the changing? Behun 04:17, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Seems like unnecessary clutter. And considering the revalations from the season finale, it might be a pain to keep current. Although I'm generally anti-spoiler-warning, such differentiation would also be pretty spoiler-ish for folks playing catch-up. And I don't think differentiating between them actually does anything significant, any more than separating them by gender or height. --EEMeltonIV 04:22, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
I'm also anti-spoiler warning, however the fact they are Cylons was a surprise and so I could understand how somebody could accidentally see that and get a bit hoo-ha. I also fail to see any benefit, it takes up more room.. the formatting is also borky on a 1024 resolution. Matthew 07:34, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Separation revisited

I was just exploring the template, and agree that as a major plot element was the revelation of new Cylons. The breaking of characters into Cylon and human is a spoiler. The issue lies that while the articles themselves have description of Cylon revelation in the text (ie: Plot & Character biography), this is not available on the templete. I would encorage either, a restructure, or deletion as this template does not seem do cover material not on the main BSG template. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 03:18, 17 July 2008 (UTC).

Yes. This spoilt season 3 for me. I have put forward a new template which does not declare characters as either Cylon or human. Further information is on the project page. --Lawe (talk) 08:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Music

Add it to the list. Can only be accessed from Battlestar Galactica (2004 tv series) IIRC —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.240.70.238 (talk) 09:36, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

I added this template to the video game article, and added links to the appropriate sections of that article to this template, as suggested in the documentation. Hopefully this will lead more people to the video game article, because it could use some expanding. Zorblek (talk) 23:30, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

New name not much better

I think {{Battlestar Galactica characters}} is a much better name. "Characters" should not be capitalized and the show name should be fully expanded. –xeno talk 16:55, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm a sucker for short, to-the-point names and this one was in keeping with {{GalacticaVehicles}} and, to a lesser degree, {{BattlestarGalacticaTopics}}. I hardly think many people will not know what "Galactica" is in reference to without the word "Battlestar" attached to it. --BlueSquadronRaven 17:38, 29 April 2009 (UTC) (there, I signed this one, don't template me. ;)
Ah ok, if there's inter-template consistency, I suppose that's ok. but its all the rage to GetRidOfCamelCase, don't you know ;> –xeno talk 17:41, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Had no idea. In any case, they're also all listed at the Wikiproject --BlueSquadronRaven 17:46, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Saul Tigh

Why wasn't he on the reimaged character list? He's a significant character. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DivinityGaming (talkcontribs) 05:14, September 18, 2009 (UTC)

He is a supporting role without star billing. We have a seperate navbox for all characters. EdokterTalk 13:08, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

O'Neill

Where does the O'Neill come from for simon? I do not remember it in the show is it in an interview or anything? --209.181.16.93 (talk) 22:41, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Reorganize by series?

I'd like to reorganize the links by series. I think most people will be looking for another article within one series, and having to check that you're on the right line is a bit of a pain.
