Result text not wrapping, overflowing to the right

[edit]

I've seen this on a couple pages recently. Not sure of the steps to reproduce, but there's an example at Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers/Archives/Coordination/Archive 1#Coordinator Voting begins now until 23:59 UTC Monday 06 March. Turning on ?safemode=1 disables it, so it must be related to a user script or gadget I have installed. If you have any tips for troubleshooting this further, I'm all ears. –Novem Linguae (talk) 08:22, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Novem Linguae: It looks fine to me. Are you using the gadget "(U) Change UTC-based times and dates, such as those used in signatures, to be relative to local time (documentation)"? If so, see Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 199#Why does this text overflow the page boundary? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:16, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's exactly the issue. I'll drop a comment over there. Thanks for linking. –Novem Linguae (talk) 21:21, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request to complete TfD nomination

[edit]

Template:Archive top has been listed at Templates for discussion (nomination), but it was protected, so it could not be tagged. Please add:

{{subst:tfm|help=off|1=Discussion-Closed-Start}}

to the top of the page to complete the nomination. Thank you. Aza24 (talk) 12:14, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Removing extra newline from end

[edit]

Would anybody object to removing the extra newline from the end of this template (after the horizontal line)? This newline makes it such that a double newline (paragraph break) after the template is actually a triple newline (double paragraph break), which adds unneeded whitespace. Use same shade of red as in Template:Abot:

Diff:

<strong style="color:red">Please do not modify it.</strong>
+
<b style="color: var(--color-error, red);">Please do not modify it.</b>

The reverse diff can be made if it's better; I'm out-of-date on HTML practice. Ursus arctos californicus (talk) 23:52, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The strong element has semantic meaning; the b element doesn't. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 06:25, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done as there is disagreement above, please resolve via discussion first. — xaosflux Talk 10:33, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How about <strong style="color: var(--color-error, red);"> for both? Ursus arctos californicus (talk) 21:31, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
