I would question the inclusion of the article on the Hartlepool by-election in this template. While it is true it is being held on the same day as the local elections in England, it is not unusual for by-elections to be held on local election days, but these are not included in the local election templates. For example Template:2000 United Kingdom local elections does not mention the Romsey by-election which was held on the same day and was seen as highly significant in that the loss of a previously safe Conservative seat eclipsed Conservative gains in the local elections. I can understand the inclusion of the elections to the devolved legislatures, as earlier templates include these, but I do not think Westminster by-elections should be included. However if this is kept, I would suggest adding by-elections held on the same day as locals to other templates for consistancy. Dunarc (talk) 22:50, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
