Template:Wikipedia historical archive item/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Wikipedia historical archive item.

This template is used on pages which are preserved in the Wikipedia:Historical archive. For preserved pages elsewhere, use {{historical}}.

All parameters are optional.

|type=: What type the page is. Options are discussion, guideline, policy, proposal, report (for database reports), or misc
|active-period=: The time range when the page was active, for example January 2001, January-July 2001, 2001-5, etc
|last-active=: The month and year when the page last had a substantial update, for example January 2001
|description=: A description of the page

This template produces a banner explaining that the page is an item being preserved in the Wikipedia historical archive.
