The {{WikiProject Vancouver}}
project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

General parameters:
- class – a rating of the article's quality; see Wikipedia:WikiProject Organized Labour/Assessment for more details. Valid values are:
- FA - The article has reached Featured article status.
- A - Could be submitted as a Featured article candidate; probably could use some small updates to make it Featured quality.
- GA - The article has reached Good article status.
- B - Could be submitted as a Good article nominee; probably could use some updates or may lack some features from the Good article criteria, but it presents a good overview of the subject.
- Start - The article is more than a stub, but may lack some important aspects of the topic's discussion.
- Stub - The article is a stub; it likely contains one of the Trade union stub templates.
- NA - The page is not an article and should not be rated; it could be a template, image or category, for example.
- importance - a rating of the article's importance; see Wikipedia:WikiProject Organized Labour/Assessment for more details. Valid values are:
- Top - Reserved for the primary articles on Vancouver. These are considered fundamental to the topic.
- High - Major --- please update---
- Mid - General --- please update---
- Low - Minor --- please update---
- No - Used only for disputed articles. Provide discussion related to the rating, as this rating is likely to be removed or replaced on sight.
- city - a designation for which GVRD city the article is related to. Editors are encouraged to use this, but it is not mandatory.

- Delta - Delta
- NVan - City and District of North Vancouver
