This template adds articles to Category:WikiProject Punjab. This template is a self-reference. Please add it to the article's talk page.

Optional parameters

• chandigarh – set |chandigarh=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Chandigarh.
  • This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Chandigarh articles by quality based upon the |class= parameter.
  • chandigarh-importance (only used if |chandigarh=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within WikiProject Chandigarh
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Chandigarh articles by importance.
• class – valid values are listed in the custom class mask. See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |class= blank or omit the parameter.
• delhi – set |delhi=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Delhi.
  • This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Delhi articles by quality based upon the |class= parameter.
  • delhi-importance (only used if |delhi=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within WikiProject Delhi
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Delhi articles by importance.
• importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |importance= blank or omit the parameter.
• listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Lala Amarnath, use |listas=Amarnath, Lala so that the talk page will show up in the A's and not the L's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
  If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
• needs-photo – set |needs-photo=yes to request that a photograph be included in this article to improve its quality.
  • This parameter populates ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Punjab.
• selected-article – set |selected-article=yes if the article appears as a selected article on the Punjab Portal.
• selected-bio – set |selected-bio=yes if the article appears as a selected biography on the Punjab Portal.
• auto – This parameter is for the use of bots and indicates that the article has been automatically rated:
  • |auto=length – based on the length of the article
  • |auto=inherit – because one or more other projects use this class
  • |auto=yes (or |auto=stub), in conjunction with |class=stub – as Stub-Class because it uses a stub template
    • Use of the above values (or value combinations) with this parameter populates ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Automatically assessed Punjab articles.
• category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.

Aliases

• The parameter |Chandigarh= is recognised as an alias for |chandigarh=. If both |chandigarh= and |Chandigarh= are present, there may be unexpected results.

• The parameter |Chandigarh-importance= is recognised as an alias for |chandigarh-importance=. If both |chandigarh-importance= and |Chandigarh-importance= are present, |Chandigarh-importance= is ignored.

• The parameter |Delhi= is recognised as an alias for |delhi=. If both |delhi= and |Delhi= are present, there may be unexpected results.

• The parameter |Delhi-importance= is recognised as an alias for |delhi-importance=. If both |delhi-importance= and |Delhi-importance= are present, |Delhi-importance= is ignored.
