A category header for categories for the by-decade sub-sub-categories of Category:Sports in the United States by state and decade, e.g. Category:1940s in sports in Maine.
Adds portal box, category explanation, navbox, and the following parent categories:
- Category:YYY0s in American sports by state
- Category:YYY0s in STATE
- Category:Sports in STATE by decade
- For Hawaii only, Category:YYY0s in Oceanian sport
Usage

No parameters are needed. The template parses the pagename, and extracts from it the year and name of the state.
Error-checking
[edit]The template checks that the page:
- is a category
- has a title of the form "YYY0s in sports in Foo"
If either of those conditions is not met, an error message is displayed and no other output is generated, but the page is added to a tracking category:
- Category:Errors reported by other category header templates (population: 4 pages)
