Template:USA image map in page
This template generates a clickable image map of the United States with links to sections or anchors with the state name.
Usage
Page must either have sections with the state name or use anchor templates (ie. {{anchor|Alabama}}
, {{anchor|Alaska}}
...). Or table row ids as described here: Help:Tables and locations#Section link or map link to a row anchor.
Map must be located in the same page as sections or anchors.
When used with no input parameters, {{USA image map}}
, generates a clickable image map that is center aligned and 700 pixels wide.
For a larger map, use |width=850px
or any pixel value greater than 700. For a smaller map, use |width=550px
or any pixel value less than 700.
By default, the map is center aligned. To float the map to the right on the page, use |align=right
. To float the map to the left on the page, use |align=left
. For no alignment use |align=none
.
To add a caption, wrap this map inside of {{image frame}}.
Horizontal table of contents
[edit]This map can be combined with Template:Flatlist. Example below with all 50 states (no Washington, DC). It acts as a table of contents, just like the map. It can replace the map if desired.
