This is an infobox for types of astronomical formations, not individual objects. "Formation" includes both astronomical objects and astronomical bodies.
thing - required
What is it? A simple dictionary definition, e.g. for Planetary nebula: Emission nebula.
where
Where is it found? Use only if the formation is found in a specific region or under a specific set of conditions.
Mass
An estimation of the mass range of the object group.
qid - required
The relevant wikidata item (e.g. Q42) with no formatting; displays as a link to the item.
commonscat
The name of a relevant category on Wikimedia Commons, without the Category: prefix, displays as a link.
comp
The chemical composition of the formation.
discover
The date of the first discovery of such an object, and the name of the relevant astronomer. (eg, Example, 1733
