Parameter Explanation Example
year* The year of the season; if blank, defaults to current year 2004
image An image for the season. Follow Wikipedia guidelines. [[File:Example.png|200px]]
image_caption A caption for the image, if provided 2007 NCAA season
number_of_teams Total number of teams competing at the highest level (either I-A or FBS depending on year) 120
preseason_ap The team ranked No. 1 in the pre-season AP Poll; The reason AP is used is because the BCS does not start until halfway through the season, and for older years there is no BCS, and the Coaches Poll does not go back as many years as the AP. regular_season The dates of the first and last games of the regular season August 30 – December 1
number_of_bowls The number of postseason bowls played 34
bowl_start* The date of the first bowl game of the season December 20, 2007

championship_system The name of the system/organizers that are organizing a dedicated national championship game [[Bowl Championship Series]]
championship_bowl The name of the championship game specified by the BCS or similar frameworks [[2008 BCS National Championship Game]]
championship_location The name of the stadium hosting the designated national championship game and the city/state where it is located. (can use <br /> for line between stadium and city) [[Louisiana Superdome]],<br />[[New Orleans, Louisiana]]
champions The name of the team that won the designated national championship game [[2007 Buffalo Bulls football team|Buffalo Bulls]]
heisman The winner of the Heisman Trophy [[John Doe]]
ap_poll The team ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll at the conclusion of the regular season. [[2007 Georgia Bulldogs football team|Georgia Bulldogs]]
coaches_poll The team ranked No. 1 in the Coaches' Poll at the conclusion of the regular season. Only include this on non-BCS years, as it will be the same as the BCS champion in BCS years due to contractual provisions. [[2007 Georgia Bulldogs football team|Georgia Bulldogs]]
