Template:IPDB/doc

This is a template to generate links to entries for individual pinball titles at the Internet Pinball Database]. It should only be used in the "external links" section of an article.

Usage

The required parameter is the ID number. The template then uses the article title as the anchor text:

* {{IPDB | ID }}
* {{IPDB | 2 = ID }}

To have the link text be other than the article name, use second parameter:

* {{IPDB | ID | Name }}
* {{IPDB | id = ID | title = Title }}

Instructions

1. Go to www.ipdb.org and find the link for the appropriate game
2. Follow the link to go to the game's page.
3. The URL will look like this: https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=<!-- ID -->. Copy the part of the url which is substituted here with <!-- ID -->. This will be the first parameter (or id=).
4. Add the game's name in the next parameter (or name=) if it is different from the page name.
5. Add one of the following to the external links section of the article:

* {{IPDB | id= <<!-- ID --> }}

* {{IPDB | <!-- ID --> }}

* {{IPDB | id= <!-- ID --> | title= <!-- title --> }}

* {{IPDB | <!-- ID --> | <!-- title --> }}
