Yume Miyamoto

[edit]

Overall: Should be good to go; nice work rescuing it from deletion. I like ALT0 better than ALT1. The fact that she was a television actress at 4 years old seems much more interesting than the fact that she moved to Tokyo to focus on her acting career at age 6, so I'm approving the original hook. --SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 14:24, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the review SkyGazer 512. However, looking at the source again, I might be mistaken with ALT0; the source did not actually state she debuted on television at the age of four, or that she debuted at age 4, merely that she became affiliated with her agency at the age of four. According to her agency profile, her first TV role was in a television show called "はみだし刑事情熱系", but I can't seem to verify what year she appeared in, as that show aired from 1996 to 2004, and her Japanese Wikipedia page does not list a year for the role. The earliest dated role according to her Japanese Wikipedia page is from 2002 (which is unsourced), while the next role listed on her profile (which is sourced) is from 2003 (age six). Based on that, can I suggest this modification?
  • ALT2 ... that Yume Miyamoto debuted as a television actress by the age of six? Source: [3], [4] ("その6歳の頃から演技・ダンス・歌・日本舞踊のレッスンをずーーーっと一緒に受けていた")
  • ALT2a ... that Yume Miyamoto debuted as a television actress at the age of five? (note: ALT2a would be dependent on if I could find a source for her サイコドクター)
Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:52, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
You're right, Narutolovehinata5, I should've looked closer; my apologies. I personally would say (and I believe most others would agree) that a DYK hook should have no question of accuracy, unless it's worded as such (e.g. may have been, probably been). In this case, ALT2 isn't really that much less interesting than the original, so I went ahead and struck the original. I still believe that ALT2 is better than ATL1. Unless I'm missing something, though, it doesn't appear that you've added that she appeared as a television actress at age six to the article. You say she "moved to Tokyo at the age of six to continue her acting career," but you don't actually say that she was in a TV show. The earliest filmography entry you have is Socrates in Love, in May 2004, which would be when she was 7 years old. Also, you still have "Debuting as an actress at the age of four" in the lede.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 00:35, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
I've done the necessarily changes. I've changed the lede to instead say "early childhood", and I've revised the biography and filmography to account for ALT2. Thoughts? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:06, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
Should be good to go now; thanks! I've restored the tick. I've struck ALT2a for now, but I'd be happy to unstrike it if you do manage to find a reliable source supporting the claim.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 01:09, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but the hook wording is strange ("debuted by"?). And what is so hooky about someone debuting as a child actor? It might work if we knew who she was, and then connected it to how early she debuted. Yoninah (talk) 18:50, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
I disagree that the fact that she debuted at age 6 is not interesting, even if we don't know who she was. However, in this case we know that it was Ai no Ie: Nakimushi Sato to 7-Ri no Ko she appeared in so we could add that to the hook. As for the "debuted by" I agree that it's a bit strange of wording; I believe it's because the sources don't make it clear whether her other shows were before or after that, but it probably could be worded better. NLH5 probably knows more about this than I do as he created and nominated the article, so I'll wait for him to reply before making any more assumptions. I'll try to think of an ALT3, however.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 19:25, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
@Yoninah: How about the following as an ALT3? (I'm not sure if interwiki links are allowed in DYK hooks or not)--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 19:28, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
  • ALT3:... that Yume Miyamoto acted in the series Ai no Ie: Nakimushi Sato to 7-Ri no Ko at age 6?
I still very much prefer the original hook (in fact, the original wording was that she debuted at the age of four, although I couldn't find a reliable source that confirmed it even though it's apparently true according to her Japanese Wikipedia page). I'm not fond of ALT3 since the show doesn't seem to be that well known even in Japan. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:28, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
@Yoninah and SkyGazer 512: How about this one?
ALT4... that actress Yume Miyamoto, who voiced Lilo in the Japanese dub of Lilo & Stitch, made her acting debut at the age of four?
I'll try if I can find a reliable source for the show appearance, and if possible, I might even source it to the series itself. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:35, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: The whole reason we had to change the hook to begin with is because you couldn't find a source for the fact that she debuted when she was 4 years old, so I approved ALT2. I do think ALT3 is better than ALT2, but sure, if you can find a source, I'd be happy with ALT0 or ALT4.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 00:52, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
ALT5 ... that actress Yume Miyamoto voiced Lilo in the Japanese dub of Lilo & Stitch?
ALT6 ... that actress Yume Miyamoto, who voiced Lilo in the Japanese dub of Lilo & Stitch, made her acting debut before the age of six?
  • Thanks for the new alts. I think we should go with ALT5. It mentions a Disney film that U.S. fans will be familiar with, while also introducing a Japanese voice actress. I still don't like any of the hooks that are vague about the age she actually made her debut. Yoninah (talk) 00:23, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. @SkyGazer 512: Thoughts? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:39, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: I don't see any issues with ALT5. It's cited in the article, the usual length, neutrality, etc. is fine, and considering how well known of a film Lilo & Stitch is and the fact that she played the title role in it makes the hook interesting enough imo. I suppose I'm allowed to do the full approval now, even though I was the one who approved it initially but had an issue that needed to be addressed later pointed out by another user?--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 03:27, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
@SkyGazer 512 and Yoninah: The thing here though is that, from what I can tell, she voiced Lilo not in the film but in the TV series, so that might need to be clarified in the hook at least. Also, considering how long this has been up and that there's a date I'm thinking off that's less than six weeks away, would it be fine for this to go up on her birthday on January 22? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:32, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
Well, if the fact that it was the TV series she voiced Lilo in and not the film is explicitly mentioned in sources, I don't see a problem with just modifying the hook to use/link to Lilo & Stitch: The Series instead of Lilo & Stitch. I'll leave Yoninah to comment on the whole timed hook thing, as that's something I'm not experienced with.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 03:36, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
  • @Narutolovehinata5: Please provide an alt, then @SkyGazer 512: can give it the approval tick and I can promote it. I think it's a bit of a stretch to wait another month to promote this, considering the nomination is nearly 2 months old. Yoninah (talk) 12:59, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
Like that? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:02, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: The article still says that it was Lilo & Stitch she voiced Lilo in rather than Lilo & Stitch: The Series. Once you've fixed this, I can approve this.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 13:37, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
@SkyGazer 512: Done. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:03, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks; restoring tick. Hook is approved per discussion above and everything else per my original review. AGF on Japanese sources. Pinging Yoninah to promote this.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 14:06, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

@Yoninah: @SkyGazer 512: Heyyyy let's do this on January 22 (her birthday!) VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 14:40, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

  • @Vincent60030: as noted above, this article was nominated almost 2 months ago. Just because we're now 1 month away from her birthday doesn't mean we're going to keep it for so long. Sorry. Yoninah (talk) 21:11, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
