  • Article is long enough and was passed as a Good Article on June 6 and the hook is short enough and quite hooky. Article appears to meet core policies, including neutral approach, use of inline citations, and avoidance of close paraphrasing issues, copyright violations and plagiarism. Image has Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 Generic license. The hook fact checks out with respect to the cave hyena, but I don't see the reference to the "cave lion" in either the article or the source. The article refers to the Pleistocene lion (Felis leo spelæ), not the cave lion (Panthera leo spelaea). Suggest a minor tweak and this should be good to go. Cbl62 (talk) 04:26, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you for the review. I thought cave lion and Pleistocene lion were synonyms (because Felis spelæ redirects to Panthera leo spelaea and Felis leo redirects to Lion, while Felis leo spelæ links nowhere. The article has [[Panthera leo spelaea|Pleistocene lion (''Felis leo spelæ'')]]), but I am no expert. Tweaked hook with Pleistocene lion supplied, see ALT1, ALT2 and ALT3 below (with and without links, respectively). Oceanh (talk) 06:26, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Thanks. If there were some confirmation that the panther leo spelaea is known as the "cave lion," we could use the original hook, which is hookier. Absent that , "alt 2" looks best." Cbl62 (talk) 23:18, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
