Vom Himmel hoch, o Engel, kommt
[edit]- ... that in the carol "Vom Himmel hoch, o Engel, kommt", printed in 1622, the angels are requested to come from Heaven with instruments, to play and sing of Jesus and Mary and for peace? it's mostly a translation of the lyrics

- Nice article, well-written and reliably sourced. Certainly both new enough and long enough, and the hook is fine (we can regard the lyrics as a reliable source). There are however a couple more places where I'd like to see references - the second sentence of the second paragraph under "History", and the single-sentence fourth paragraph of the same section. I'm happy to sign this off once those references are sorted out. Prioryman (talk) 13:36, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for looking, fixed refs for the four composers mentioned, - actually that one line might grow a bit, with the information found. Don't know what the second sentence means, - the second is referenced, and the third is just an observation looking at the print. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:28, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
