University of Hong Kong pro-vice-chancellor selection incident
[edit]- ... that the University of Hong Kong council's decision to reject Johannes Chan's (pictured) appointment to pro-vice-chancellor sparked protests by students and staff members of the University?
- ALT1:... that Jerome A. Cohen criticised the University of Hong Kong council's decision to reject Johannes Chan's (pictured) appointment to pro-vice-chancellor as "very sad news for Hong Kong's autonomy and freedom"?

- Comment: Failing ITN nom, which I participated. Writing hooks related to the topic isn't easy, but I hope I pulled it off. Otherwise, feel free to write suggestions.

- This article is long enough and new enough; the article history is not clear on this latter point but as the council decision was reached on 29 September and the events recorded took place in the first week of October, the article must have post-dated these. The hooks are both cited and either could be used. The image is in the public domain, the article seems admirably neutral to me, and I found no copyright issues in the spot checks I made.
