United States Custom House (San Ysidro, California)
[edit]... that the historic U. S. Custom House (pictured) in San Ysidro lies 50 feet (15 m) north of the busiest land border crossing in the world?

- The article is new and the nomination meets the timeliness criteria. The QPQ is OK. Images are in the public domain and appear in Wikimedia Commons. The hook is short enough and moderately interesting, though the references to "the busiest land border crossing in the world..." seem more like an unsupported assertion. Can something more substantive be found? I see no reference mentioning the distance from border. That factoid seems insignificant to me, and I'd recommend deleting it. Overall, I found the article interesting. Bruin2 (talk) 20:27, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
- Pulled from Prep 1, per question by The Rambling Man over sourcing. One of the sources for the hook is 4 years old. Don't know about the second source. The Rambling Man has given a source dated 2014 that says the busiest border crossing is in Texas. — Maile (talk) 19:08, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hopefully User:Bruin2 has been notified about this too? The Rambling Man (talk) 19:13, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
- The "busiest border crossing" was true for a number of years, but maybe the temporary spike in border crossings in Texas means it is not true at the moment. I propose changing the wording to "one of the busiest border crossings in the world". --MelanieN (talk) 22:11, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

- Not sure about historic (to whom exactly?) and non US readers (or even readers outside California) may not know exactly where San Ysidro is - suggest ALT2 ... that the U. S. Custom House (pictured) in San Ysidro, San Diego lies 50 feet (15 m) north of one of the world's busiest land border crossings? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:26, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'm OK with ALT2 as well - whatever the promoting editor prefers. To answer the question of "to whom exactly" the building is historic: it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With that in mind, and agreeing about "San Ysidro, San Diego", I propose ALT3 below. --MelanieN (talk) 11:41, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- ALT3 ... that the historic U. S. Custom House (pictured) in San Ysidro, San Diego lies 50 feet (15 m) north of one of the busiest land border crossings in the world?
- Reviewer needed for all the ALT hooks. Original hook struck. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:01, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
All the ALTs are OK,; ALT3 seems most popular (with one vote). Bruin2 has previously reviewed against the other criteria, so I'm assuming they are fine (I'm trusting you Bruin2, don't let me down or it will be Chinese burns for you) Belle (talk) 09:39, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
