The Nun Jerónima de la Fuente
[edit]... that one of Diego Velázquez's earliest portraits, painted in 1620, depicts a nun?

- New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. QPQ done. The hook though interesting could be better. Could the part of the painting being wrongly attributed to Luis Tristán be used to form another hook. Else it is fine as it is. CrossTemple Jay 13:37, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: What do you have against nuns? Kingoflettuce (talk) 17:38, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Kingoflettuce: Nothing. I was just updating the reviewer's review. Frankly, if you don't know who Diego Velázquez is, you wouldn't be interested in this hook. Yoninah (talk) 17:47, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
- Oh I see. Kingoflettuce (talk) 17:58, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
- Didn't think he was questioning the "hookiness" though (in fact he explicitly says it is interesting). He uses a full stop after "Could...", not a question mark, so perhaps it's just an afterthought and not a real question of hook interest. Who knows? In any case.....

- Well, you could read "though interesting could be better" any way you want, I guess. Your ALT1 hook is better IMO. Do you want to add the public domain image to the nom? Yoninah (talk) 19:33, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
- Ah cool, sure tjat'd be nice Kingoflettuce (talk) 23:40, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
- Great work guys. IMO ALT1 is better. Could I say that by rewording the hook like I have done below, it makes it easier for readers to get to the DYK first. CrossTemple Jay 11:49, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- ALT1a: ... that The Nun Jerónima de la Fuente (pictured), one of Diego Velázquez's earliest portraits, was mistakenly attributed to Luis Tristán?
- I like ALT1a. You could also say "mistakenly attributed to his contemporary, Luis Tristán" to give it some context. I added an image. Could you give this a tick, Crosstemplejay? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 15:47, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- Ready for main page. ALT1a is the best of them all. Great work Yoninah and Kingoflettuce. CrossTemple Jay 16:11, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
