  • I'm reviewing this. BorgQueen (talk) 09:42, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
  • @Soman: I can't see the linked Google Books page. Can you quote the relevant passage here? BorgQueen (talk) 10:55, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
    • Hi BorgQueen. The quote is "... Ukrainian publishers also meant that Ukrainian books on the average cost 10 per cent more than Russian publications ... [...] ... DVU's production , it is not difficult to see why the wider public's demand for Ukrainian books was never satisfied . 301 Taking belles lettres as an example , these books normally took one to one and a half years to sell out in the USSR . Most Ukrainian novels , however , sold their press runs in half that time.30" --Soman (talk) 23:35, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
      • @Soman: Thanks. I'd like to suggest in spite of the higher average price, which is I believe a more precise wording. Are you OK with the change? BorgQueen (talk) 01:52, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
        • Hi BorgQueen, sure, I'm ok with the change. Thanks, --Soman (talk) 11:06, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
          • @Soman: One more thing. The quote says Ukrainian publishers also meant that Ukrainian books on the average cost 10 per cent more than Russian publications so I believe the hook needs to say ... would sell out much faster than similar Russian books in the Soviet Union ... instead. BorgQueen (talk) 19:59, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
          • @Soman: pinging. BorgQueen (talk) 22:47, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
            • Actually, there is a little bit more material in the source. For example "The high cost of Ukrainian books was a constant theme of readers' complaints during that decade". Now, the source talks about 'Ukrainian' and 'Russian' books, but that isn't necessarily Ukrainian-language vs. Russian-language books. I think better to stick to the original wording. --Soman (talk) 00:06, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
              • Very well. Approving the original hook, just having reworded it to in spite of the higher average price, as agreed. BorgQueen (talk) 00:44, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
  • @SL93 and AirshipJungleman29: Could you please take a look? It's getting pretty old. BorgQueen (talk) 06:16, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
