Sichuan anti-Mongol fortresses
... that near the end of the Southern Song dynasty, the Sichuan anti-Mongol fortresses defended Sichuan for 53 years until 9 years after the downfall of the dynasty?Source: which resisted the invasion of Mongolia for 53 years. Even after the Battle of Yamen in 1279, which ended the Southern Song dynasty, two of the fortresses (Santaicheng and Lingxiaocheng) had not fallen. The former lasted for an extra year until 1280, and the latter lasted until 1288, making it the last place under Song control.[1]- ALT1:... that Möngke Khan, a Khagan of the Mongol Empire, died while battling at the Sichuan anti-Mongol fortresses and became the only Khagan to do so? Diaoyucheng was the most famous as the death place of Möngke Khan, who became the only Khagan to die in battle[2]

- for ALT 1 (see comments). The article is new enough, long enough and within policy. No QPQ needed according to nominator. Both hooks read well, but only ALT 1 is directly supported by inline citations. The nominator has to add a citation supporting the sentence "Even after the Battle of Yamen in 1279, which ended the Southern Song dynasty, two of the fortresses (Santaicheng and Lingxiaocheng) had not fallen." in order for the first hook to pass. Non-English language sources AGF. So it's good to go with hook ALT 1, but would need some small adjustment for the original hook. Yakikaki (talk) 14:03, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but the article is an orphan. Please link it in at least one other Wikipedia article so it won't get an orphan tag. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 22:30, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
- Done. Added into a couple of navboxes. Eumat114 formerly TLOM (Message) 03:31, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
