- Interesting bio on good sources. Could you please add dates and accessdates to the references? - I am not quite happy with the reference for the hook, because it mentions the fact only as a keyword. Any additional source for that? Or a different hook? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:31, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- I'd like to add another two articles to the nomination, thus proposing ALT1: ... that Sadhan Gupta, elected from Calcutta South East in a 1953 by-poll, was the first blind parliamentarian in independent India? --Soman (talk) 03:10, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
- As per the hook, see [1] "Independent India’s first visually-challenged MP Sadhan Gupta has died following age-related illness.", [2], [3] --Soman (talk) 03:16, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, please add one more ref to the DYK statement. A little patience please regarding the other articles. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:54, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

- Found the background articles also informative, on plentiful sources. Minor request: please avoid a link from the bolded article name, as in the by-poll, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:58, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
