Renaissance in Scotland

[edit]

  • Comment: There were some problems with how the form was filled out; I hope I've fixed them all.
Beyond that, however, all hooks must have a bolded link to the article in question, which is Renaissance in Scotland. The one above doesn't. The three other links are fine, but the primary point is get to people to read the article being nominated, so it needs to be central to the hook, even if its exact name is not used. Also, it's generally the case (but not a rule) to have the first word of the hook be "that". Here are a couple of alternate hooks that do both of these things:
Shorter, punchier hooks are best. You'll note that the inclusion of "1595" is, to my mind, not really necessary. And think about reordering the clauses (which I've done in ALT2). The earlier you list the bolded article, generally, the better. —BlueMoonset (talk) 04:12, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Comment: Both an improvement to my mind. I struggled a bit with too many sub-clauses on the original. I prefer ALT 1, mainly because it ends with the reference to the Temple. The date could be taken out of this one I think.--SabreBD (talk) 06:56, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Article new enough, long enough, properly referenced. Should be nominated for GA.
  • ALT1 and AL2 hooks are fine. Verified against offline source.
  • No QPQ done. Editor has not not got five DYKs, but an experienced editor should have done one anyway.
  • Good to go. I prefer ALT1. Hawkeye7 (talk) 19:51, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
