Neferirkare's pyramid was about as tall as Menkaure's pyramid at Giza.

Comment: I was asked about an image on my last nomination, however, that pyramid is currently just a mound of rubble. Neferirkare's pyramid is in ruins, however, the distinct step pyramid structure (which is another unique feature of the pyramid as mentioned in ALT2) is clearly visible and intact plus it's also one of the taller pyramids constructed (certainly the tallest of the Fifth Dynasty). Please ignore the image file name, it's incorrect. Pyramid of Neferefre should suffice to explain why. An alternate image is the one currently in the infobox, but, I think this image looks better and gives a more complete picture. I'll let the reviewer decide though as I've never submitted a picture for DYK. I'd be very tempted to actually have the caption as: Did you know that Neferirkare's pyramid was about as tall as Menkaure's pyramid at Giza? Source: refer to ALT1 although it was actually about 8 m taller than Menakure's pyramid originally. Alternative captions: The step pyramid is distinctly visible underneath the ruined/rubble exterior or Neferirkare's pyramid with step pyramid clearly visible underneath the rubble exterior.

Overall: The first two hooks don't work for me – their point seems to be a non sequitur. ALT2 is quite verbose but is inside the limit and the issue of the step design goes nicely with the picture so that's the hook I'm passing. I'm all good with ALT2 if you think that one is best. The first two hooks might have been better if I'd managed to integrate the fact that the pyramid was the tallest at the site, though that would have put me well over the character limit. This one is my fourth, rather than third, DYK nomination. My other nom has been approved but not yet posted to the main page. So I only have 2 credits at the moment. QPQ will be required after my next DYK nom. I haven't done a DYK review before, so I'm making use of the no QPQ required. Thanks for the review Andrew D..
