Politics and Prose

interesting, detailed article with good sources. I like the original hook best, but is there a more precise term for "their events" (in German it would be Autorenlesung). ("Author talks"? Had to be in the article in the line where the hook is sourced.) The same question goes for the article, why not "audience" instead of "people in the store", for example? I would be interested in a few more authors - linked - in the article, more interesting than the details about selling and health issues. Please try to tighten the prose in an article that has Prose in its name, example: "After an incident where Gainsburg kissed a staff member on the cheek on her birthday, the staff member resigned and other employees heavily criticized Gainsburg and demanded his resignation." - I am NOT interested in the picture caption detail on the adjacent pharmacy. I think the other proposed picture looks more special, anyway. Please polish "an outpost of intellectual and literary vitality", --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:33, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
I'm making some of your suggested changes now and giving it a general copyedit. I'll give you a ping after I'm done with work today with some more extensive comments and changes. Nomader (talk) 14:30, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
I changed the term to "readers at their author events" in the first hook to reflect what Politics and Prose and other reliable sources call their events. I also went through and tried to clean and tighten up some of the language. Man, some of it was pretty bad, thanks especially for catching "commented on the unusually intelligence questions", kind of ironic how terrible that is. I tried to add more about the author events and I'll probably add a smattering in about lesser known authors also appearing when I go through it one more time tomorrow, but otherwise it should be fine now. Do you think the DYK picture might be better served if I cropped File:Politics and Prose 2.jpg so it focused mostly on the storefront? Nomader (talk) 03:21, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
fine, I like the original hook best. If a different is taken it should be checked against the sources, I had no time to look, - yes, a crop of the pic would be good, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:27, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
