Poerbatjaraka
[edit]- ... that the Javanese philologist Poerbatjaraka (pictured) obtained a doctorate cum laude at Leiden University, even though previously he had only attended primary school?

- Age, length & expansion okay; no major issues. Hook is good; Indonesian language source (which also currently returns a 404) accepted AGF. (I've made a small grammatical correction.) QPQ verified. I have a small concern, however, regarding the copyright status of the lead image. I'm not familiar with Indonesian copyright law, but are you sure that an image appearing on the cover of a book published by the National Library counts as a government publication? Could the image have been previously published elsewhere making it a derivative work? I guess it might still be PD for its age, though. I'll leave this to the closure's judgment. --Paul_012 (talk) 07:58, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Paul 012: The national library is a government body, and the (b) part of the law that the Commons tag cited says that it is not a copyright violation to reproduce something that was reproduced by/on behalf of the government, so I think we're covered there. Also, if the image was published during Poerbatjaraka's lifetime (he died in 1964), it would be also out of copyright for the same reason as this: File:A._Hamid_Arief,_c._1960.jpg#Licensing.
