New York Coliseum

[edit]
  • ... that in order to get the federal government to pay most of the cost of clearing land for New York Coliseum, urban planner Robert Moses added a housing development to the plan? Source: NY Times 1952.
    • ALT1:... that the groundbreaking for the New York Coliseum was delayed for ten years, and the demolition took another fourteen? Sources: (1) NY Times 1954. The title is "Coliseum Cornerstone Laid -- 10 Years Late, Says Moses". (2) NY Times 2000. "The Coliseum closed in March 1986, after a men's sportswear show. [...] At the time, it appeared that the Coliseum would be torn down imminently. [...] Having stood 1,920 years fewer than the one in Rome, the Coliseum on Columbus Circle is about to topple."
    • ALT2:...that Donald Trump threatened to sue the New York Coliseum's sellers if he was not awarded the bid to purchase the Coliseum's site? Source: NY Times 1998. "Donald J. Trump has issued a not-so-veiled threat that he would file a lawsuit if his bid for the property was rejected in favor of a rival developer."

5x expanded by Epicgenius (talk). Self-nominated at 02:43, 16 February 2018 (UTC).

  • Article began expansion six days ago and was nominated after three days, so this meets the newness criteria. The expansion was more than 5x so that's okay. Earwigs did not detect any possible copyright violations (it only detected some quotes, which are adequately referenced in the article). The article's references are mostly offline or behind a paywall so the hooks are accepted in good faith. The article is stable, and images have appropriate licenses or fair-use rationales. What hook will be approved will be up to the promoter, but I'm striking out ALT2 since, per the recent discussion at WT:DYK, it seems that hooks involving Donald Trump are currently discouraged. QPQ has been provided, so this is good to go. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:33, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
